Angels starting the second half in a positive manner, but they found themselves behind after ten minutes due to not closing down players giving away a poor goal.

15/04/12
This Saturdays match was away to Kingshurst Sporting Girls.
Angels started the first half slow and found it difficult to get in the match with the home team setting the early pace and due too players not being switched on along with not closing down / marking the home team forwards who found the net twice within the first ten minutes.
Angels still struggling to get going with Aaliyah, Emily and Beth trying their best to break through the good Kingshurst defence with Angels only chance coming on fifteen minutes where Aaaliyah going through the defence and hitting the target without the power to beat the goal keeper.
Midway through the first half the home team still on top, making a number of chances with our defence of Alice, Jessica and Georgia Richelle in midfield standing strong with some good clearances, also some good goal keeping from Megan.
The game nearing half time Angels found themselves three nil down with a home team player unmarked on the six yard finding the net, so at the end of the first half the score was a disappointing 3.0 to Kingshurst.
Angels started the second half in a positive manner pressing forward having some good attempts on goal before Emily getting one back with great determination winning the ball just outside the box and firing a great shot into the net, and within a minute of the restart Beth with a good run through the home team defence seeing her shot just going wide.
Angels continued to press forward in an attempt to get back into the game making some good chances and were unlucky not to convert one of them this included some good work from new Megan who is improving all the time, before once again conceded a further disappointing goal by not closing down players.
This did not dampen Angel’s sprit who kept going, but could not find a way through to reduce the deficit and were unlucky to concede another goal after Megan making a good save and the ball breaking to a home team player who scored from close range.
The Angels should be pleased with their second half performance with the girls giving a spirited display trying their best has a team up to the final whistle, with Jessica being named “Angel of the match”.

Angels started the second half in a totally different manner and seemed to lose its shape for a period in the second half, which let Marston Green Girls back into game with some poor marking and not closuring players down Angels, found them selves 3-1 down.
This seem to have a positive effect with Angel’s players digging deep playing some good passing football but just could not find that final pass to break through a strong defence or connect with a number corners which went straight across the penalty area, needing just a torch to direct them into the net.
Angel’s finishing the second half the stronger team without any reward with some good defensive play and good saves by Megan kept them at bay.
Well done Angels for the way you come back into the match, with an all round team performance with Alice being “Angel of the match”
24/03/12
This Saturdays match was at home to Stratford Town Girls.
Well played for all the girls today. A player down at the start and 2 players down later on in the game due to some injuries. But every single player gave 100% and didn’t give up till the end.
For the four players at the end it was hard for the final 15minutes but they gave their all and it showed at the end. Megan made some great saves, Jessica battled hard, Georgia led by example to the end and played some good little passes with Beth for the great second goal as well as her following up her own penalty for her goal.
Aaliyah carried on as long as she could with a bad foot and had good game. New Megan also had a good game but unfortunately had to stop due to a bad wrist.
And a well done too all the girls I am extremely proud of them and they can hold their head up high after that performance. Beth named “Angel of the match” for her non-stop running and all round play, well done.
To the two injured girls I hope they aren’t in too much pain and recover quickly.
Report by Jason.

Wednesfield team kicked off the first half who set the early pace with the Angels team standing strong making the game an even contest with Angels making their own chances playing some good football with Naomi and Aaliyah going close.
Midway through the first half with the match still evenly balance Wednesfield Girls took the lead with a goal against the run of play, due too players switching off and not closing down the away team forward whose shoot found its way into the net.
At the first half whistle it was hard to be believe Angels after their performance found themselves 3-0 down with Wednesfield Girls scoring a further two soft goals.
Angels started the second half in a positive manner with some good moves but just could not find that final pass to break through a strong Wednesfield Girls defence.
Angels seemed to lose their shape and spirit for a period in the second half, where they conceded a further five disappointing goals, but with 10 minutes remaining Angel’s players were digging deep with captain Georgia leading by example including a number of solo runs by Emily, Bethany lifting the players and when Bethany broke through from her own half shooting from long range which deceived the oppositions keeper and went into the net was Angels just reward for a spirited display up to the final whistle, with Richelle being named “Angel of the match”.

Angels continued to make a number of chances with Aaliyah making a good solo runs but unable to convert any of them and some good defensive play by Jessica and Alice including good goalkeeping from Megan, Angels looked in control of the first half without seeing any rewards for their efforts.

Angels continued to press forward against a spirited Redditch Borough team with some good football which found Richelle through on goal and was unlucky not to score with her just going wide, the home goal keeper making a full length save from Naomi shot just from inside the penalty area, also with some great Georgia throw-ins, Aaliyah & Naomi found them selves one on one with the home goalkeeper and were unlucky not to convert any of the chances.
Against the run of play Redditch equalised with two minutes to go when some poor clearance found a home team player unmarked to shoot home from close range, before the end Megan made a great save to keep the score at 1-1.
This was a game where Angels made a number of changes and you would say they deserved all three points with a great all round team performance with Jessica “Angel of the match” for her good defensive and all round play.
25/02/12
Today we were at home, Manager Colin Hall was confident this would be the turning point in the season for the girls.
A confident Kingshurst Team came to Warwick having got another 3 points from their last game, straight from the KO came at us. but they had to get past a determined Jess at the back in their early attacks, 5 mins into the game they were pushing us with break after break but Jessica, Alice and Megan kept their cool allowing Georgia Richelle Rachel and Boo to give some pressure back sadly without joy, around the 10th min Jess forced the ball out for a corner. a very good corner came in and it was blocked but not cleared Megan got to the ball with 1 hand but sadly 1 hand on the ball allowed the opposition to poke the ball into the net Angels were down but not out. Combined pressure from Georgia Richelle Rachel and Boo stopped the attacks on our goal with some great free kicks Jess put us on goal with Boo coming close to scoring only a great save stopped her. Then a run from Boo took her into the box and she was pulled down and we had a lifeline Georgia smashed in the Penalty hard and low. Kingshurst then decided it was time to pressure us again but again Jessica was too strong, at half time 1-1.
Second half started the same as the first and Jess and Alice did all they could before Kingshurst bundled in a second. Angels then put on pressure with solo runs from Boo and Rachel coming close to scoring Richelle had chances from some well worked and well taken corners. Angels eventually ran out of steam with no subs all the girls were tiring and all they could do is to burst out with some help from Megan in goal. Today the girls deserved something sadly I can’t give all the girls AOM but Jessica took that with a solid performance. Losing today wasn’t kind because all the girls played so well. Keep it going girls new players are coming in so things will get better I hope.
28/01/12
This Saturdays match was away to Wednesfield Girls.
A depleted Angel’s team having only six players one of which was in an accident on the way to the match kicked off the first half against a good Wednesfield team who set the early pace.
The Angels defence was under constant pressure from the home team with Jessica & Georgia and with good goal keeping by Megan and Alice just in front of the defence trying their best to stop the onslaught. But Angels found themselves six nil down at half time.
Angels starting the second half as they finished the first and finding them selves further behind with a good header and long shot from the home team and in between the luck wasn’t on Angels side when some good blocking from Jessica and Megan in goal with the ball always seemed to fall to a home team player at one time the ball was blocked three times to find a miss hit shot somehow founding its way into the net.
Rachel finding herself up front on her own with non-stop running along with Richelle were trying their best to create some chances but found it hard to break through the strong home team defence.
Angel’s players were digging deep with some carrying knocks in the second half, should be pleased with their performance with the girls giving a spirited display even when the score was 11.0 to a strong home team.
Megan in goal was named “Angel of the match” for a great goal keeper display.
21/01/12
This Saturdays match was at home to Leafield Athletic.
Angels kicked off the first half setting the early pace making a number of chances playing some good football with Naomi and Aaliyah coming close.
Angels continued to press forward and looked in control in the first half due to some good defensive play by Jessica and Alice with some good saves by Megan with Georgia / Richelle playing in midfield making it hard for Leafield to get into the match.
Before the first half come to a close Angels made some good attempts on goal and where unlucky not to convert one of them when Naomi connected with the ball by the penalty spot from a corner from Jessica to see her shot just going wide. It was hard to be believe Angels had not scored at the first half whistle.
Leafield Athletic started the second half and you would of thought that angels had changed the team because some how found themselves four nil down half six minutes by giving away soft goals.
Angel’s players were digging deep with captain Georgia leading by example and solo runs Aaliyah breaking into the penalty area without converting any of the chances.
Angels once again conceded a further two disappointing goals by not closing down players, this did not dampen Angels sprit who kept going and were rewarded when Aaliyah turned the ball in from close range which she deserved for her persistent hard work.
Angels continued pressure up to the final whistle making further chances without converting any of them. Angel’s put in a good performance but made some silly mistakes which need to be cut-out.
The Angels should be pleased with their performance with the girls giving a spirited display and with some girls playing so well today Angel of the match was hard to choose one player but in a way this is good because it shows they are giving us their best, with Georgia being named “Angel of the match”.
07/1/12
This Saturdays match was away to Leamington Loins.
Leamington Loins started the first half and with Angels setting the early pace with a chance in the first two minutes when Aaliyah was just unable to convert, with Angels pressing forward they found themselves behind after ten minutes due to not closing down players giving away a poor goal.
Angels looking for an equaliser having a number chances due to some good solo runs from Aaliyah who was working the home team defence hard with their goalkeeper making some good saves.
Angels starting the second half in a positive manner, but still needed to play more football with the ball on the ground, and with no Angel player attacking the ball made it easy for the home team to score with Angels found themselves 4 -0 down after way through the half.
The score did not reflect the Angels performance making some good chances to bring them back into the game without converting any of them, with good performances by Richelle, Georgia, Rachel, Aaliyah and Alice with her brave effort playing just in front of the defence including with non-stop running being named “Angel of the match”.
26/11/11
This Saturdays match was away to Leafield Athletic our first observation was the pitch was marked out with green lines.
Leafield Athletic started the first half with Angels letting three early goals in due just to poor play but I must say the first was because the pitch markings with the Angel girls stopping with the ball being out of play but the home team played on to score and within this period not all the play was poor with some good performances.
Angels picked themselves up making a number of chances against the run of play with good efforts from Aaliyah with great volley just over the bar before Angels being rewarded for their efforts when Naomi scored from close range making, it 3-1 to the home team.
Angels after scoring, you could see signs of them getting back into the match this extending from the back with some good defence play from Alice & Jessica along with some good saves by Megan giving a good platform to go forward.
Angels starting the second half in a positive manner, playing more football with the ball on the ground, and were unlucky to not pull one back when a good pass by Megan found Aaliyah who drove into the penalty area before seeing her power shot half saved by the goal keeper with the ball rolling which we believe went over the line but not given, after this Angel’s made a number of chances with both Aaliyah & Megan having great efforts being saved by the home team keeper or just going wide.
Angels once again conceded a further four disappointing goals by poor marking from corners, this did not dampen Angels sprit who kept going up to the final whistle making further chances without converting any of them.
The final score was 7-1 to the home team Leafield Athletic, but Angel’s performance wasn’t poor just some silly mistakes need to be cut-out, “Angel of the match” was Megan who only started playing this season, Colin stated that this was the best he had seen Megan play with her non stop running and tackling won her Angel of the match.

The match went through a phase where both sides having chances with some great saves from Megan and Kingshurst Diamonds keeper before the home side took the lead in the fifteen minute when a cross found their player unmarked in the penalty area to drive home.
Angels looking for an equaliser when Jessica’s cross was half saved by the Kingshurst Diamonds keeper, which Richelle managed to control the ball to slot home under pressure from the goalkeeper, but the goal was disallowed for a handball by Aaliyah said the referee, but only player to handle the ball was their keeper.
A solo run by Georgia into the penalty box where she was heavily tackled by the goalkeeper with the ball breaking to Richelle on the edge of the box which saw her shot just going wide.
Angels still working hard to get back into the match against a very physical Kingshurst Diamonds team with our defence of Alice and Jessica standing strong with a some good clearances including some good cover play from Richelle, Georgia, Aaliyah and Naomi making good solo runs and working the home team defence hard with their goalkeeper again making some good saves.
Angels starting the second half in a positive manner, but needed to play more football with the ball on the ground, and were unlucky to found themselves 3- 1after ten minutes into the second half.
After this set back Angels still kept going making some good chances to bring them back into the game without converting any of them, than a further blow when a good turn on the ball and shot by the home team player from out side the penalty area Angels were losing 4-1.
Angels went through a period of playing some good football and again making some good chances with Georgia’s pass setting up Aaliyah with the Kingshurst Diamonds goalkeeper making a great save from Aaliyah effort. Still pressing forward Angels pulled one back with a great solo run from Naomi from the half way line to slot home at close range.
The final score was 4-2 to the home team Kingshurst Diamonds, but Angel should not have lost on this performance including non-stop running from Richelle being named “Angel of the match”.
Despite the loss it was pleasing to see the players taking on board the coach / managers comments about the basics. “Well done girls”
12/11/11

Firstly we would like to thank both sets of players and all people involved on both sides for respecting the two minutes silence.
Solihull Borough Vixens started the first half and set the early pace with a number of chances with our defence of Georgia and Jessica standing strong with some good clearances including some good cover play from Richelle.
Angel’s performance in the first half was very sloppy allowing Solihull Borough Vixens to much space and with no Angel player attacking the ball again making it easy for the away team to score three goals in the first half making Solihull Borough Vixens 3-0 Angel.
Angels were not playing well and chances were few and far between with the only highlights from the Angels was a solo run from Rachel half way through the first half, Megan & Aaaliyah trying their hardiest with some strong running and Richelle shot hitting the post.
Angels starting the second half as they finished the first and struggled to get into the match due to sloppy play and were lucky not to found themselves further behind , due to some good defending by Alice and a number of good saves by Megan.

Angels came to life 5 minutes from time, when Jessica’s corner found Rachel who controlled the ball and powered home from the six yard box. After which Angels had a number of chances without converting any of them.
The captain Georgia leading by example taking many of the goal kicks, throw -ins and corners with none stop running was “Angel of the match”.

15/10/11
Today’s game was against Erdington Ladies.
Angels started the game on the attack with Aaliyah going close in the first few minutes, Megan was given her first start today but although she was playing ok getting stuck in asked to come off and Rachel went on after only 5 minutes. Erdington had a few chances in the first 5 minutes but unfortunately for them their chances went wide. Megan picked up the ball and kicked it down field for Aaliyah to chase which she did taking the ball into the box after 6 minutes and scoring from close in.
Angels were 1-0 up and wanted more with Rachel, Richelle and Naomi all pushing forward trying to get another goal, Angels got a throw in which Georgia took and Aaliyah connected with an Acrobatic kick and scoring her 2nd goal of the game in style stunning the Erdington team. The pressure kept coming from the Angels and Erdington had a few more good chances sadly for them Megan was up to the challenge. Our third came from a kick down field from Megan which Rachel quickly latched onto going on a run that resulted in our third goal with a super strike from Rachel that crossed the line and the goal was given by the Referee, Megan had come back on for Rachel and was playing really well.
Second Half Angels again were looking for more goals with Richelle battling for a goal after Aaliyah had moved into Midfield. Georgia had a number of long range efforts going over or wide and Megan Aaliyah and Rachel going close but still no goal. Time for Naomi to take the field again but upfront she quickly got back into the game going on many runs with some shots being saved by the keeper and some going over. Angels then stepped up a gear with Rachel going off for a rest and Richelle coming back on Naomi went on a solo run driving the ball at the keeper but being there for the rebound meant she could pick up her first goal of the game 15 minutes into the 2nd half.
Angels were playing well so decision to put Richelle in goal and bring Megan S to play wide right seemed mad, but Angels still were after more and 2 minutes after the switch, Naomi drove the ball against the post which again needed a decision from the linesman this time to give Naomi her 2nd of the game. Erdington Ladies fancied their chances against our changed keeper but Richelle wasn’t having any of it pulling off a couple of great saves and Alice and Georgia mopped up.
Angels were not done yet 5 minutes from time Megan S drove the ball across field for Naomi to chase which she did taking the ball into the Erdington box and driving a shot straight down the middle of the goal to seal a 3rd goal for herself. Erdington didn’t give up trying again to unease the changed keeper but being stopped by our regular keeper before they got too close. Angels kept going forward but not getting any more goals before the end.
Today before the game the girls were asked to attack the ball which they did and well deserved the win Naomi was named Angel of the match for her 3 goals and she was a constant threat today. Well done Angels

This Saturdays match was home to Wednesfield Girls in the Open Cup.
Wednesfield Girls started the first half on a hot sunny morning with Jessica in goal needing to make a great save in the opening first minute of the game.
The visitors setting the early pace with some great defending from Alice, Georgia & Richelle limiting the chances for the away team backed up with good goal keeping by Jessica.
Jessica’s long goal clearances and Georgia’s long throw ins were causing the Wednesfield Girls defence problems without Angels converting any of chances which came from them.
Angel’s performance in the first half was slow and they found it difficult to get into the match, with
Wednesfield Girls taking the lead eight minutes from half time.
Angels starting the second half as they finish the first and finding them selves two nil down after two minutes into the half, with a good move from the visitors finished off by a good header giving Jessica in goal no chance.
After the second goal Angels changing things around to try injecting some life into Angel’s play, with Richelle moving into midfield which looked exciting at times making a number of solo runs but the heat and more players to pass proved difficult for her to go further.
Angels were denied a penalty when Georgia’s goal kick found Megan in side the oppression half with Megan’s solo run breaking into the penalty area where she was clearly elbowed in the side when trying to shoot, but play was waved on, with Megan needing to come off injured after the tackle.
Angels still struggling to get into the match, where 4.0 down midway through the second half after two quick goals due to some poor mistakes.
Angel’s players were digging deep in the heat with the captain Georgia leading by example taking many of the goal kicks, throw ins and corners with none stop running from Richelle, Alice and Aaaliyah making some chances with Aaaliyah long shot just over the bar and Georgia’s free kick on the edge of the penalty area well saved by the keeper with Angels not following up from the rebound.
Wednesfield Girls made it 5.0 with 5 minutes to go with another preventable goal giving a unfair reflection on the game against a very physical team and hot morning, still seeing some good performances including non-stop running from Richelle being named Angel of the match.
Despite the loss it was pleasing to see the players taking on board the coach / managers comments about the basics including more heading of the ball than normal.

Angels continued to press forward against a spirited Starlands St Annes team with Aaliyah’s header just going wide.
Angels seem to be on top with some forward / midfield persistent running, but due to some sloppy play midway through the half which seemed to go through the team allowed the opposition to start to make an impact on the game creating chances, but came up against some good defensive play by Alice and Georgia.
The first half came to a close with an even game and a good all round team performance.
Second half under way Angels again straight on the attack with Naomi long range looping shot just going wide in the first minute.
The match being an even contest in the second half with good leadership from Angels captain Georgia, taken throw ins, corners and making two goal saving tackles one which injured her after St Annes player was clean through on goal before Georgia’s making the brave tackle. This Saturdays match was away to Solihull Borough.
Angels started the first half slow and found it difficult to get in the match with Solihull setting the early pace coming close to scoring before breaking the dead lock after ten minutes where a miskick found one of their players in the penalty box who made it Solihull 1-0 Angel.
Angels still struggling to get going with Aaliyah and Rachel who was not 100% today trying their best to break through the good Solihull defence with Angels only chance coming on fifteen minutes where Aaaliyah going through the defence and hitting the target without the power to beat the goal keeper.
Midway through the first half Solihull still on top making a number of chances with our defence of Alice, Georgia and Jessica standing strong with some good clearances, also some good goal keeping from Megan including one great save keeping the score at 1.0.
The game nearing half time found Angels having to cope with players needing to be substituted due to picking up knocks which didn’t help Angels cause with Solihull winning a corner from which made it Solihull 2-0 Angel’s with a player unmarked on the six yard finding the net.
So at the end of the first half the score was a disappointing two nil to Solihull.
Solihull got the second half under way with Angels changing things around to try injecting some life into Angel’s play, with Georgia moving into midfield after Jessica bravely coming back on into defence still carrying a knock.
Angel’s players were digging deep and finding some sprit making the second half a more even contest.
Angels started to make some chances through the second half with the ball crossing the Solihull box on a number of occasions without converting any of them including a long throw from Georgia which Aaaliyah great flick on went just over the bar, and Megan’s goal clearances one of which had the Solihull goal keeper in trouble with the ball going over her head but just missing the goal.
Angels were still in the match but without playing at their best, due to some good defending by Richelle, Jessica, Alice who bravely played on after picking up an injury before she had to be substituted and once again great goal keeping from Megan including pulling off another great save.
The Angels should be pleased with their second half performance with the girls giving a spirited display and with some girls playing so well today Angel of the match was hard to choose with players moving around two had knocks and one wasn’t well it made it difficult to choose one player but in a way this is good because it shows they are giving us their best, with Megan being named Angel of the match.
